Even without using Record, Kim Rok Soo– Or Cale now, rather– had a near photographic memory. He remembered everything that he read about The Birth of a Hero, including the main character, Choi Han’s, encounter with the first minor villain, Cale Henituse.
“But he got kicked out before the book even started? What the hell?”
Cale wanted to hit himself in the face and hope it’d wake him up from this dream. Because it had to be just that– a dream. Though everything he was seeing and experiencing was telling him otherwise.
“I’m screwed.”
He looked at the Adventurers Guild just across the street, looked at the sword he bought with what little money the original Cale had been left with, and shrugged. I have experience with a sword. May as well use it. Money would be great to have.

In other words: Cale gets kicked out of the Henituse household before Kim Rok Soo is transmigrated, and KRS!Cale, like the materialistic son of a bitch he is (for various reasons that is a joke) needs money and will do anything to get money, short of screwing around.

Summary
