Summary
If he were anyone else, he probably would have jumped out of his skin at the sound of Mayoi's voice, whispering so close to his ear he could feel his breath tickling it as he spoke. If he were anyone else, he probably would have then felt incredibly unnerved by the way Mayoi seemed able to read his mind without even seeing his eyes. But he wasn't anyone else, so both of those things just calmed him and brought him comfort, instead.
Tatsumi falls ill while ALKALOID is away from ES, so he's left alone with Mayoi, who's in charge of nursing him back to health, and notices Mayoi is watching him with an expression he's rarely seen before...

Tatsumi had longed to bring Mayoi to the place where he had spent his childhood, and though he knew that Mayoi shared the same sentiments, there was still some hesitation. It was a church, and Mayoi’s aversion to anything that was holy could be comparable to an allergic reaction. But, after a bit of convincing, they settled on visiting after hours when Tatsumi was sure that no one would be visiting.

He had the feeling he was being watched; of course he was, he was leading a service, but something didn’t feel right. It felt like the room was filled with an unusual sense of dread, but judging by the happy faces of those watching him, he was the only one with that feeling.
