He is angry, forcing Steve to drag a confession out of him, and then his jealousy suddenly turns into a game of power and submission. Steve must admit his guilt (even if it doesn't exist) and atone for it first on his knees on the damp ground, and then on the creaky bed, his face buried in a pillow.
