Lance looked at him warily for half a second before the exhaustion apparently won out. Keith guided him carefully down onto the bathroom floor instead, maneuvering him until Lance sat between his knees with his back angled toward Keith’s chest.

Dazai shifted, and Chuuya’s hand, traitorous as his ears, settled between Dazai’s shoulder blades. Immediately, Dazai melted.
“Oh, that’s pathetic,” Chuuya muttered.
“Birthday privilege.”
“It’s my birthday, bastard,” Chuuya grit out.
“Exactly. I’m giving my dear slug the gift of being nice to me.”
Chuuya scoffed. “That’s not a gift.”
“It is if you think about it romantically.”
“I’m not doing that.”
Chuuya is in a terrible mood on his birthday. Dazai, naturally, decides this is a problem best solved by breaking in through the window, bringing him a stupid pastry, and cuddling him until he stops hissing.

Chuuya swallowed and shifted his hand, slow and careful, letting his fingers slide into Dazai's hair. It was softer than it had any right to be—always was, even as it perpetually carried the faint scents of gunpowder and something metallic.
He brushed it back from Dazai's temple, thumb grazing skin that was still warm despite everything, and Dazai stirred, a quiet sound slipping out of him before he could stop it. His arms tightened reflexively around Chuuya's waist, face pressing closer, like he was chasing heat even in his sleep.
“Yeah, yeah,” Chuuya murmured under his breath, barely louder than a thought. “I'm here. Don't get all clingy about it.”

He now worked as a raptor specialist at one of Tokyo's bird rescues, as well as an on-call de-escalator for animal heteromorphs affected by quirk amplifiers.
When he gets one such call on behalf of none other than No. 2 Hero Hawks, he turns up to a job that's easier than he expected in some ways, and much more difficult in others: the birdbrain seems to have decided that he wants to spend all his time glued to Touya's side, which means that Touya is on bird-sitting duty for the next couple of days until the quirk wears off.Series

Dazai clicks the “Apply” button.
Then hits “submit.”
The return email comes in so fast it’s suspicious.
He’s barely clicked the button when his laptop pings—new message.Maybe it’s a “thanks but no thanks.” Maybe it’s a scam. Maybe it’s just one of those auto-replies which is corporate code for we’ll delete this in the morning.
He clicks the email.
Watches the loading wheel spin.Finally, the screen blinks.
“Congratulations. Your application has been accepted. Interview scheduled for 9:00 AM tomorrow at the palace.”He bursts out laughing.

He’s sat on the floor, slumped over a still unpacked box, face like thunder, when the door swings open. A flash of orange greets him in his peripheral, and for a second he does a cartoon-style double take. Is that a girl? It can’t be a girl. Surely they don’t have mixed gender student accommodation at Todai. It doesn’t seem that progressive here.
“Hey.” The person says, and Dazai realises they are addressing him. Because he’s the only one in the room. “You must be Dazai, I’m Nakahara Chuuya. But please, for the love of God, just call me Chuuya.”

Chuuya swallowed, the weight on his chest nearly painful. He steadied himself and cupped Dazai’s flushed cheek, thumb brushing slow, grounding circles.
