"He was cold, wherever he was seemed dank and icy, like a dungeon. And his head was throbbing. He brought a hand to his head and felt a large, sticky lump, he hissed as he pressed on the tender spot. His leg was bothering him too. He let his hands drift to his ankle, where the skin was feeling especially irritated. Horror settled in his stomach as he realized two things. First, his socks and shoes were gone, his feet bare and cold. Second, a cold, metal chain was wrapped around his left ankle, biting into his skin and binding him to something in the inky darkness."
The gang is getting used to life without Johnny and Dallas, though the ache of missing them is still fresh. Just when they think things are settling down, a plan for revenge shakes up their lives once again. When one of their own goes missing, they'll do whatever it takes to save their missing brother.

Darry wondered if they, too, felt the enormity of this moment, the first time they'd all three been together in nearly eight years. They had to, right? Or maybe they were just overwhelmed. A new (old) home, two new (old) brothers—it was a lot for one day. Then Soda took a tentative step forward.

Or, Darry was only twelve when his parents were killed in a car wreck, and he and his brothers—eight-year-old Sodapop and five-year-old Ponyboy—were split up by the state. The Curtis family has been a broken shard of what they used to be ever since the accident. Darry and Sodapop had stood over three grave markers at the funeral: two caskets holding the crushed bodies of their parents beside an empty nameplate labelled Ponyboy Curtis. It's been four years since he went missing from the scene of the railroad track. The case has been cold for just as long, and nearly everyone in Tulsa has lost hope of seeing the baby Curtis brother's face again.
His gang has never lost faith, though, and it proves its worth on the Friday afternoon that Ponyboy Curtis, in all his presumed-dead glory, knocks on the front door like he's not allowed to simply walk in.

“Darry wrapped his arms around Pony as he snuggled close to his chest. They didn’t say anything more before they fell asleep, but secretly Darry thought that maybe they didn’t even need apologies. They could just do this, it felt like an apology in itself. Acknowledging the other person just by being there, saying sorry with a hug rather than words. It felt right, not as daunting and scary as a big “I’m sorry” but still as true and honest.”
OR
Darry and Pony had their fair share of fights even before their parents death, and apologies never really came easy. For some reason though, it always seemed easier this way.

No, but Tony Stark seemed to think it should. His lack of patience—of empathy—infuriated Wanda. She didn’t understand how someone could be so cruel.

It’s Peter’s fault Uncle Ben died. He’d run off, angry after a fight about Peter’s behavior at school. Ben got shot by a mugger that he hadn’t stopped. Aunt May died because he’d been stupid. He’d been reckless, crossing into Manhattan as Spider-Man—hadn’t been close when the crash happened. If he’d been there, he’d have heard it. He’d have gotten May out. Things would’ve been okay.

After the snap the avengers (and others) are kidnapped by the TVA and forced to watch their lives on screen.
Sometimes the future is shown, so they can prevent bad things from happening, and other times they react to the past to learn from their mistakes. In one moment the heroes watch happy and embarrassing scenes, in the other they find out more about the dark pasts and truth from each other.
The purpose of all this is avoiding a universal conflict to take place.
Will they have learned their lesson and be able to change the future or is it already too late?
Or, the avengers and co react to scenes to prevent a multiversal catastrophe. Chaos (and trauma) ensues.
