Summary
Many had marked their calendars in anticipation of what they were effectively calling “Judgement Day” for one loathsome sinner. The event itself was rather absurdist, the first of its kind, for no sinner had ever caused such an uproar that they demanded a second Judgement post-mortem.
What punishment, everyone thought, would be fitting for a man who made such history?
Once, this creature was a man whose voice and manner were adored by the many who followed him. Now, he stood alone, chained, and without the strength to raise his head.

“Start actin’ like a mortal, lover, and it seemingly begins to catch up with you,” Hades rasped, that sin-dark voice of his hoarse from disuse. He shifted, forcing his spine to unbend, bones scraping and creaking and cracking as he straightened.
Persephone felt her breath catch in her throat, her heart stuttering and skipping a full beat as his left leg kicked out slightly.
“Hades,” she murmured, skipping up the three tall steps that separated her from the dias upon which he sat, falling to her knees at his side and planting both palms on either side of his thigh. “Husband.” She paused, then, “lover.” She ducked her head, pressed a kiss to the knee hidden behind creased pinstripes, slipped her hands lower to curl her fingers around the thick cast of black diamond and steel that encased his lower leg from calf-to-toe, nails scratching against the unyielding mineral as she clutched it to her.
"What happened?”
