In a canon-compliant AU after Gaeas defeat, the fact that Hazel came back from the dead is a secret. Nico Di Angelo made a deal to bring Hazel back, and this binds him for life-break it, and Hazel dies. Hazel doesn't know what he traded-but she knows he hasn't looked the same since. And Nico feels haunted, especially since the deal means nothing is for granted, that in a drop of a hat, everyone could leave him. His sexuality isn't making things easier either.
Will Solace is a medic, and a dam good one at that. He, too, has a secret-something he can't tell a single person until he knows for sure he can trust them. Even then, it is a risk-he knows something is not quite right here.
They fall in love, in the infirmary. Each one trying to heal the other.
