For their entire lives, Alex, Marty, Gloria, and Melman have known only the sterile, confined world of the New York orphanage. But on his 18th birthday, Marty's yearning for freedom explodes into a desperate escape attempt, reluctantly dragging his friends into the chaos.
Detained and deemed stateless due to their complete lack of personal records, the group is summarily deported. A violent accident on the ship leaves them stranded on a wild, mysterious island— known to the natives as Madagascar.
Stripped of their civilization, the friends must confront not only the untamed jungle and its peculiar inhabitants, but also the primal instincts awakening within themselves. As the line between survival and savagery blurs, they face the ultimate choice: Is their bond strong enough to save them, or will the wild force them to turn on each other?
This adventure is a collision of friendship, instinct, and the painful discovery of who they really are when their options boil down to kill or be killed.
