I don’t believe in their bitch magic.” He spat the word. Tightened his grip. “I don’t think I believe in anything. But you,” he stopped, tripped, as if the speech he usually commanded so effortlessly had failed him. His mouth hung open. He leaned closer, breath sweet with the milk he’d drank before coming to Paul’s room. “You are unavoidable, aren’t you?”
Paul went limp. His body pulsed. Everything inside him lit and liquified, scorching. “Does that frighten you?”

Summary
All things considered, Kim thinks Porsche’s younger brother is a quiet, thoughtful boy. A bit odd and standoffish at times, perhaps, but understandably so—given the nature of the business Porsche willingly involves himself in.
Still, once in a while when he sees him, Kim can’t help the nagging feeling in the back of his mind that something isn’t adding up the way it was supposed to.
As if something…is not quite as it seems.

Kim has known the Wraith has a brother at the Menagerie long before Kinn had ever told him, because apparently no one in his family does due diligence on their employees. But it’s an easy job, and he doesn’t have to do much. And it’s a nice break from being another one of the best weapons in their arsenal, not that his father calls on him very often.
At least, that’s what it had been in the beginning. It's more than that now, and he doesn’t need the specifics of tonight's job in order to understand that Kinn sent him, specifically, to watch Porchay in the event anything happens to Porsche. Kim is their father’s blade, and he does not get attached.
Until he does.

He doesn’t make another move to try to enter, not that he could; Kim is keeping his arm bordered across his doorway. Yuuji peers hazily up at him. His expression holds neither confusion nor comprehension, only soul-deep exhaustion. Despite that, he turns his head toward the Death Painting.
“That’s my brother,” Yuuji mumbles.
Satoru blinks very slowly, a gesture that’s wasted on the boy still staring at the Death Painting with those tired, tired eyes. “Yuuji, that’s a curse.”
“Half,” Yuuji says. “Or…a third? A third. Two-thirds human.”
“You’re an only child.”
Yuuji makes a noncommittal noise. “Thought so too. Didn’t believe him at first. But I dream, sometimes.”
Satoru takes Yuuji’s face between both of his hands and turns it toward him. Yuuji comes easily, blinking up at Satoru with those big, brown eyes.
“Yuuji,” Satoru says slowly and clearly, “you’re not making any sense.”
A time loop locks Yuuji into the day of the Shibuya Incident. Satoru bears witness to the aftermath.

Something…is very wrong here.
“Yuuji-kun,” Satoru says as delicately as he can manage, “I think you’re a little confused.”
Yuuji calmly raises his right hand and scores his fingers down his entire left arm. His nails tear into flesh. Blood streams down the gaping gouges—and then away from the skin, rising high into the air to form a cutting arc.
“That’s Blood Manipulation,” Satoru states, eyeing how the gouges on Yuuji’s arm close. “And reverse cursed technique. Are you aware that you’re supposed to be a hapless non-sorcerer, by the way?”
The fifteen-year-old boy whom Satoru ties to a chair in the isolation chamber isn’t the furious calamity who wakes up.
