Summary
Paul is a successful clothes designer but sees much less success in his lovelife. After a particularly painful breakup Paul has to switch gyms where he meets a rather intimidating ex boxer named Daryl. Paul is at first put off by Daryl's gruffness but one night catches a glimpse of the man playing with his dogs at a dog park and begins to discover that the man may not actually be as scary as he first appears.
I was inspired by a photo shoot Norman did and wanted to contrive a story where Daryl wears the same outfit

"Dr. Lecter," Jack said, trying to coax an answer out of one of them that he would never receive.
"Yes?" Will and Hannibal said simultaneously.
A look of confusion spread across Jack's face. His eyes flicked down from Will's face to his ID badge, which had a terribly grainy picture of him on it, along with his name and title. The photo had been taken on a day Will hadn't slept for nearly forty eight hours, making him look exactly like the serial killer he was.
It always made for a good laugh.
"Excuse me, doctor," Jack said with something akin to dread. "But what's your name?"

There is nothing particularly special about the moment, Peter is just about to pull his shirt over his head when he glances towards the mirror on the back of his bedroom door and notices something strange near his shoulder. He stops what he is doing, dropping the shirt on the floor before moving closer to the mirror.
Peter freezes, his eyes locked on the letters that sit cleanly below his collar bone like they had been carefully written in black ink. He let his fingers brush over them like it might have been an accident, the ink doesn’t smear or fade it stays exactly as it is.

It was only when Paul looked over, his gaze unerringly finding Daryl, like he knew he was there, that Daryl remembered the bolt in his hands, the one he was supposed to be sharpening but had been holding loosely in his fingers for far too long. Daryl dropped his head, looking at the bolt in his hands and picking up the knife that had been left abandoned on the bench beside him. He’d barely started working on it when a shadow fell over him.
“You were watching me,” Paul said. He ran a hand through his hair, damp with sweat, Daryl’s eyes tracked the way his long fingers ran though the loose strands, how it somehow still looked good despite the exertion Paul had undergone.
“Yeah,” Daryl replied, his voice rasping out, dry and brittle. “’Cause you look like a dumbass.”
