Summary
Mumbo was braving the night on his own. He carried a shulker box from his base to the new redstone farm he was working on. A whistling gust of wind spooked him enough to almost drop it. He would have laughed at himself if something hadn’t beat him to it.
He swore he heard a giggle from the trees to the left. He tried to peer through the darkness to see who was hiding. It could have easily been one of the other hermits, but Mumbo wasn’t convinced. Pranks have died down the past couple days in light of the actual potential threat.
“Hello?” Mumbo called out, clutching the shulker to his chest. He caught sight of a movement within the branches. It looked like the outline of wings.
Or: Grian escapes the watchers and takes refuge on the hermitcraft server. The server members begin to notice a strange figure and prepare for the possibility of the worst. Or, at least, they're supposed to. Their instructions to keep themselves safe are often outweighed by their curiosity about their new guest.

After a while, the boy looked up at Grian, “Why are you guys- Why are you so fuckin’ nice? I’ve been here for like half an hour, and no one has gotten angry at me for being a dick, that Xisuma bitch saved my life, and helped me calm down after a freakout- What the fuck? I don’t understand!” He cried, and Grian just let him talk. It hurt to hear, and made him wonder who hurt this kid.
His avian instincts weren’t helping either, it was not the time to be trying to take in an abandoned fledgling. It also did not help that between the ugly sobs the kid was making, he could hear the repressed chirps that struggled to pass through whatever barrier this kid had put up to stop any bird-like sounds.~

Summary
Grian thought that the library must be closed. It looked so ill-kempt and dull. But despite this, he slowly stepped up the few stairs leading up to the entrance and turned the handle. It moved underneath his hand, and the door cracked open slightly.
Darn it - how could he possibly resist exploring a potentially abandoned library? That was the pinnacle of mysterious magic books from non-magic folk and sounded generally exciting. Pushing away the awareness that his current actions were highly illegal, Grian gave the door a larger push. It opened fully, only creaking a little bit, and he stepped over the landing into the dark building.
Grian froze.
The air that greeted him was stale and smelled of old books. The room was completely silent; a person could hear a feather drop. Light was let streaming in by a set of absolutely massive windows, ones that seemed far, far taller than the actual building seemed to be. The ceiling was so high that Grian couldn’t see the top - only darkness.
Or, Grian finds work at a mysterious library that holds far, far too many secrets.

Descriptions are hard, this is basically my rambling fics that strike my fancy as I work through Hermitcraft. Mostly focused on Grian because that man is too easy to put in pain, but other hermits may have the spotlight, depending on what my muse feels like doing.
