“So, do you only want to spend time with me because of my cooking? Because that’s what it sounds like to me.”
Taehyung chuckles.
“No. Your cooking is just a bonus. But being hungry always makes me miss you even more.”
Warmth creeps up Jungkook’s chest.
“We got back from Busan two days ago. And you already miss me this much?”
“Of course. I always miss you when we’re not together.”
Taehyung’s voice drops even lower, and Jungkook isn’t entirely sure he even realizes he’s doing it. He says it as casually as if he were talking about the weather.
Jungkook closes his eyes for a brief second.
Taehyung’s unabashedness is going to be the death of him one day.
“Liar.”
“Ya!”
Taehyung laughs.
“Okay, okay. Ninety-eight percent of the time. It’s nice to get a break from looking at you every once in a while, you know?
I swear to God, sometimes it’s just too much, Jungkook-ah.”
Jungkook snorts as he adds butter to the sizzling onions and mushrooms.
“You’re ridiculous. And, as we’ve just established, a liar.”
He shakes his head, a smile tugging at the corners of his mouth.
