Wei Wuxian always knew who his words belonged to, ever since he turned fifteen and they first appeared. They were Jiang Cheng’s, and he knew that Jiang Cheng would never want him like that so he resolved himself to ignoring them. Then, when he returned because of Mo Xuanyu’s sacrifice, he had two soulmarks, two sets of words, and the second set belonged to Lan Zhan, who was much more open to a relationship with him. Wei Wuxian was happy with that, because he loved Lan Zhan, and Jiang Cheng couldn’t stand him anyway.
And then he learned how miserable Jiang Cheng actually was without his soulmate, and he decided that maybe he did need to do something about it.
