Caitlyn feared the worst as she saw the latch of the ship open, two figures walking out immediately, followed by numerous stormtroopers and purgetroopers, holding threatening spears that Caitlyn would very much like to avoid.
“I have eyes on the target and the inquisitors.” Caitlyn reported, grabbing the binoculars and peering through them. Her eyes fell onto the inquisitors, one of them male and tall, face exposed to everyone who saw him. Beside him walked a smaller one, face masked, unrecognizable.
She would be unrecognizable to anyone else, but not to Caitlyn. She remembered the way she walked and the way her arms moved as she did, the way she turned her head, and the way her hands looked, even though they were gloved. The lightsaber that was clasped to her belt was still the same, scarred and marked by its journey and fall to the dark side. Above all, she remembered the way she felt whenever she was near her.
“It’s her.” Was all she said before crawling closer to the scene, just within reach to hear everything that was being said.

The car spat and jerked as she neared, and as soon as she pulled into the drive, it died. She smacked the steering wheel. Then, after a breath, swung open the door and stood in the full strength of the sun, one heavy, sweating hand pressed down on her. She glanced around. The garage doors were closed and the shop seemed to need its own repairman, paint flaking off the outside wall and the sign so faded that she had barely been able to read it. Was it even open anymore? She came round the side of the car and jumped at the sight of the woman sitting there, cross-legged, back against the brick wall and eyes shut against the light, slow breath raising her chest. She was young, probably younger than her, a cigarette dangling between her lips and square hands draped over her knees. The breath died in her throat.
"Hey there,” the woman called out, eyes still closed.
