“How about you?” She asked so cheerfully and it was only then that Ushijima realized he had been meant to pay attention to her other questions.
Turning to look off to his side he tried to look as if he was thinking so his panic wouldn’t register. Somehow, as if his mind had been read, Kageyama had met his gaze and with a careful gesture he pointed to the court behind them to indicate what she was asking. He had offered him the lifeline Ushijima needed, somehow so aware of his struggles as if they were his own. It confused him, how he knew, but he hadn't the time to dwell. Instead, he pieced together she was asking about the game they had played and mouthed a wordless thank you to the setter.
Kageyama ends up supporting Ushijima when he least expects it, and he learns something new about the setter he never thought to hear.

Suddenly he thought he might come across rude as he simply watched him, he didn’t quite get how it was but he heard enough of Tsukishima’s snide comments to grasp he shouldn’t do it. And, he felt the tug to move closer, to learn from him and he couldn’t learn just by watching. Taking in a sharp breath, Kageyama took steps towards Akaashi.
“I hope I’m not intruding.” Kageyama walked into the room and that was when he saw the sight Akaashi had been entranced by, it was Bokuto warming up some technique. He felt almost foolish for thinking it could be anything else, Bokuto was the world that he orbited.
“No, you aren’t.” He looked over at him and yet, neither of them felt drawn to meet each-other’s eyes, “But, what is it that brought you here?”
Kageyama always thought highly of Fukurodani's setter so when he has a chance to talk with him, he decides to seize it. The conversation ends up uncovering some things about Kageyama he'd yet to fully accept himself

But suddenly, she felt as if she was as much of a fool as he was.
Saeko hasn't been quite the same since she met Seong-Hui and when she sees her sitting in Survive Bar on what would be a normal night, she cannot deny the feelings she has for her any longer.

“I’m scared,” he confesses, almost as quiet as a whisper.
Shoyou turns his head, leaning his ear closer.
He sniffles. “Of what? Of me?” He asks.
Kageyama is quiet for a long time. In that time, Shoyou’s breathing evens out some.
“I guess I’ve always been like a beetle,” he finally saysWhen a fight with his parents results in Shoyou dashing out into the snow blizzard without a place to go, chance has him stumbling into Kageyama out on his daily jog--and by extention--has him stumbling headfirst into his lonesome life.
When a storm keeps them locked in with nothing but each other as company a thousand things rise to the surface.
