Summary
The Alliance of Lordaeron has no time to listen to Varian Wrynn, king of a broken kingdom, and his pleas for aid in marching south, saving his people and retaking his land. Instead, they have to deal with King Aiden of Alterac’s treachery, and finding a way to keep the Alteraci from doing anything rash.
It's a good thing then, that Bolvar comes up with a crazy plan to get Varian an army, the Alteraci a pardon, and Stormwind a chance.

“I’m trying to sleep.”
“Try harder, you’re making it difficult for me.”
“I didn’t remember you being so grumpy.”
“And I don’t remember you being so introspective and quiet,” he replied, voice catching at the end of his sentence, making Kliff’s heart skip a painful beat.
It was true, he knew, but every time he tried to say something about it, someone interrupted them or worse, the words got stuck around the knot in his throat, lost and unreachable.

That didn’t faze Bolvar, who had probably never been fazed by Varian even once in his life.

Bolvar had the gall to chuckle.

It had been a long week, month, year, life, but he didn’t comment or even move his face when Bolvar gently led him off the road, and towards the small building. It was obviously of Goblin manufacture, but so was everything else in this dusty, arid, horrible part of the world.
Not for the first time, Bolvar wondered how they had ended up so far from home.

Varian looked up from his phone to send a glare at Bolvar. His eyes clearly conveyed that he was about to kill everyone in town, and then himself.
“Don’t,” he half-whispered half-groaned.
His voice was too rough, all of the sudden, and Bolvar forced a tight smile on his lips, pressing his foot harder into Varian’s.
“Alright.”
“We’ll figure something out. Don’t marry her.”
“Okay.”
“Don’t.”
“I won’t.”
But Varian’s eyes showed he didn’t quite believe him.
Maybe it had been a stupid thing to say. Bolvar was like that. He said something almost close to what he really meant but couldn’t quite get himself to say out loud. Because marry me wasn’t something he could utter out loud, not right now, on the bank of Lake Everstill, laying on Varian’s couch while almost playing footsie with him.

It wasn’t a bandit that came out of the heavy foliage, but it wasn’t Leo either.
It must have been a hallucination though, because the giant man who came out and looked at her with amber eyes was holding her dagger in his left hand, still dripping blood, and his eyes went to her eyes, then the arrow sticking out of her thigh, then her eyes again.
He looked as shocked as she was, her whole body suddenly finding it in it to produce cold sweat.

Valiant Scourge stopped a Kaiju attack three days before being sent to Kul Tiras. Beve was in the dining hall with everyone else, moving her ration around as she watched with bated breath the Kaiju fall, and the Jaeger fall with it too.
No one breathed for a moment, the conn-pod half crushed, until finally it opened, two blondes crawling out, beat up and dirty, but alive.
Beve sighed a breath out, the muscles of her back relaxing just slightly. This was why she didn’t watch the news anymore. This hit too close to home.
She had seen some of the footage of when help had finally found her in Gnomeregan. She had been covered in her own blood, pale as a sheet, clearly in shock, and pressing down on her brother’s chest with her one good arm.
It had taken a few hours for them to be found. The medics had said she was the only reason Aliden was still alive.
It still hadn’t been enough though.
or: the Jaeger Program is on its last leg when Marshal Greymane finds Beve and forces her back in for one last mission.
