Summary
When Steve gets blindsided by a migraine, Eddie helps him through it with gentle guidance and soft touches. It’s no surprise when, on the flipside, Steve can no longer bring himself to hide the feelings he’s been harbouring for years and Eddie finds another way he can take care of Steve.
“I’ve got you, baby.” Eddie whispers, and Steve feels the phantom touch of lips on his temple again, only this time he’s certain that Eddie has pressed the ghost of a kiss to his skin. If Eddie keeps this up, keeps calling Steve baby on top of it, Steve might start crying in the state he’s in. Consciousness comes to Steve, one slow realisation at a time:
- There’s a dull throbbing behind his eyes, that makes him whine softly and bury his face further into his pillow. He can’t bring himself to move, to search for the bottle of aspirin he knows is somewhere in the room, because;
- Steve has possibly never felt this relaxed in his life. His head aches and he’s just woken up but his eyelids feel so heavy, like keeping them open is too much effort, making the pain worse.
