His voice cracked and stumbled, no, no, not in front of him, fuck. He pinched his teeth together and sucked in breath through them, looking at the wall instead of the warm body with which he was so familiar.
“Like we used to?” Wesker provided, and Chris flinched so violently that he jostled Wesker’s hand.

AKA Wesker is cutting Zeno's chest open, and they're both getting off on it a little bit. This is written as part of an AU my wonderful friend Frog and I have come up with, where Wesker has been dosed with Elpis as well, and they are both being kept as prisoners and informants by Chris Redfield. Wesker and Chris are inseparable, and Zeno is their whipping boy.

That was the only word that rang in his mind as he came to in the suffocating small space. The cold was inside him like it never planned to leave, set deep into his bones and making him shiver uncontrollably.
As he slowly stumbles out of the broken cryopod, ready to fight, he’s confused to find the Umbrella facility completely empty.
No matter. He doesn’t have time for any of this. He needs to contact his team by any means possible and stop them from being deployed to the Arklay Mountains anyway. Everything else can come later.
He will make sure the Arklay mission doesn't end with his team's bloodshed.
...

"Lance, can I speak with you for a moment?" Asked the white haired prince, his posture remaining open and confident as the shorter blue paladin turned on his heels with half-lidded eyes. Lotor could almost feel the disdain radiating off of their armored body.
"What? Come to rub it in my face?" Lance responded with a scrunched nose, his shoulders slouched forward.
"I don't understand what you're implying." The prince responded, raising a brow. "I only wish to speak to you about... Allura."
"Yeah- how you've been trying to /steal/ her heart?" The paladin spat, words laced with a thick coating of jealousy that squeezed itself through clenched teeth. "Well guess what! I'm not giving up that easily." He added, pointing to himself triumphantly, tiny sparkles twinkling in his persistent eyes.
Eyes that Lotor seemed unnaturally drawn to lately.
A sinister grin tugged at the corner of Lotor's lips before he responded with something that made Lance's heart drop.
"I'm not here for the princess."

Summary
Chris Redfield thought he'd finally buried Albert Wesker.
Instead, he finds him alive.
Imprisoned inside a BSAA-funded research facility and forced to continue the research that made him too valuable to lose, someone needs to be willing to stay in a room with a man who insists on ensuring the failure of each person unlucky enough to step through those doors. After exhausting every other option, the facility settles on the only person they believe might survive him: Chris Redfield.
What begins as an attempt to understand the man who betrayed him and to make peace with years of unresolved grief slowly becomes something neither of them was prepared to confront.
Chris thought he would just be looking for the point where his Captain ended and Albert Wesker began.
Wesker thought he already understood Chris.
They were both wrong.

Statler and Waldorf serenaded Sir Michael Caine on the screen, coming in through Claire's speakers in surround sound, but all Chris could hear was the rattle of chains and a familiar laugh that sent his heart into his stomach.
