He decides he has seen those eyes before, through visions or reality, he cannot precisely say; only that he knows their shape and color forever, even though he cannot reminisce about encountering another human with such unique eyes.
Jia is the Last Dragonborn: the heroine of a legendary destiny complete, a fire-breathing dragoness trapped in a mortal body. Miraak is the First Dragonborn: a Traitor undefined, a frost-breathing dragon trapped in Oblivion, of the same destiny forsaken.
But was it ever truly forsaken? What does the First mean for the Last? What will they both mean to Skyrim, divided, kingless, and bleeding as it is now?

Summary
On a tourney field in Outworld, two realms clash in a jousting tournament. Despite the veneer of fine appearances, both sides know this is no mere display of arms—it is an attempt by Outworld to weaken Earthrealm and allow for an invasion. Lord Raiden, the Grandmaster of the knightly order of the White Lotus, knows this better than anyone else, and has arrived at the tourney to find new knights to join his mesnie and—he hopes—the defense of Earthrealm.
John Cage has pursued fame, fortune, and female companionship while on the tournament circuit. Something has been missing—and he hopes to find whatever it is at the Earthrealm-Outworld tournament. Perhaps a lord will want him for his tourney team, or even to grant him a fiefdom.
The lady-knight Sonya Blade has come to the tournament for her own purposes: finding Kano, the leader of the Black Dragon mercenaries, and putting him into the ground in revenge for his murder of her twin brother. At any cost. Everything seems to be going according to plan until the interference of one coin and celebrity-seeking tournament knight whose good intentions and overweening pride are going to prove her downfall…
And quite possibly his, if not an entire realm's.

A beautiful Medieval AU take on Mortal Kombat with strong Game of Thrones vibes. Wonderfully written, with a great eye for detail, and lots of subtleness hiding between the lines. Well worth a read. Well worth a second or a third read as well.
