Summary
For some reason, the shadows were suffocating now, despite the lamplight. Ciel could not tell if it was his nerves, or if there had been a genuine shift in atmosphere. He knew the feeling; when he was little, he used to be scared of monsters watching him from the dark corners of his room… The feeling of something lurking.

Summary
Sebastian has never given two thoughts to the writer who lives on the beach. He probably hasn’t said more than five words to him the entire time the man has lived in Pelican Town.
Elliott needs a muse. He’s sought a simple, impoverished life hoping to spark creativity. Now running out of his novel’s advance and time to get it to the publisher, he doesn’t know if he’s got what it takes to hack it.
On a cold, rainy night in early spring, two lost souls accidentally touch. What happens next is something neither expected.

Summary
When Dottore leans forward, fingers splayed out over the forgotten papers, his carmine eyes gleam with fervid hunger. The pulsing light of the Akasha catches on his serrated smile.
“Nothing would wake you up, dear. Not a sound, not a feeling. You would be—” A spark, a shiver, rippling over every inch of his body. “—entirely at my mercy.”
Pantalone’s breath hitches. For the right price, the knife’s edge of surrender has always been so deathly appealing.
Dottore has made some rather spectacular adjustments to the Akasha terminal. Pantalone indulges him in a blasphemous little experiment.

Summary
The large merman grins almostly wickledy behind his mask. “You can call me Hank, by the way,” he says. “Suppose we’re in this shit show together now, huh?”
Connor doesn’t know if he’s ever heard that phrase before and files it away for later. “You have a peculiar way of speaking,” he says, but Hank seems unbothered by it, blinking indifferently. “If you’re imprisoned,” Connor tries again, “where was it they took you from?”
“The Big O,” Hank says, obviously trying to be funny even though Connor doesn’t quite know what he means. He doesn’t think this situation is funny at all.
“Where’s that?” he asks, and Hank laughs outright in a rush this time.
“The ocean,” he says, incredulous. “Where else?”

Summary
Changsheng shifted, drawing tight around his throat. The bells were still ringing, audible even with the windows closed tight. The fatui ships in the bay had thrown the Harbor into a strange mood, excitement and apprehension bubbling up from the stone in equal measure. The answer fell upon him then, suddenly, like a shower of icy rain.
Another Harbinger had come to Liyue Harbor.
The race for immortality begins, from Liyue to Sumeru. Baizhu is left with little choice-- he must win.
