She gave him an amused look, raising an eyebrow at him as she rounded the table and made her way across the small space towards him. “Ha ha Katsuki, very funny,” she rolled her eyes at him playfully, her smile wide and genuinely happy witch just fucking weird considering he didn’t have a clue who this chick was.

He is forced to transfer for three weeks in a different city, where he will stay with one of his roommate's friend. Despite not feeling up to it in the beginning, he eventually warms up to the idea and surprises himself when he actually enjoys his stay. What will also catch him off guard are the days that will follow as well as the relationship that is bound to happen by being under lockdown together.

This story follows the time period of Tsunade’s rule as Hokage, with flashbacks to the Third’s reign. It will be mostly canon compliant but the scale of the reader insert changes some small details, and time jumps may not be 100% accurate. I’m writing this fanfic as a sort of cathartic experience. This is my first fanfic so please be gentle (: Lots of the story will be inspired by some really good Kakashi x Reader and Itachi x Reader fics and I’ll make sure to mention the respective writers and their (likely highly recommended) fics in the notes before or after a chapter when applicable/available.
Also, the main character of this fic is an OC I created with a very specific physical description, but I will be posting this with descriptive blanks for the name for sake of the readers!

"I… I'm not sure yet," you admit, your voice quieter than before.
He stops walking, and you do too, suddenly hyperaware of the space between you. When he speaks again, his voice is softer than you’ve ever heard it. "Tell me when you figure it out."
