Summary
Shane has always known that he's different. Bad different too, because kids are cruel in their honesty, especially when you're as talented as Shane is. He even makes peace with it (or pretends to). Alone at the top.
And then Ilya Rozanov happens. A natural disaster that enchants Shane from the first minute of the first tape. Lightning in a bottle let loose on the ice, and he's so beautiful that Shane wants to cry.
When they meet for the first time, it's like seeing the sun for the first time, and neither can fight their gravity during draft. Their meeting in the gym changes everything - because Shane is not alone in his obsession, and Ilya never knew how to back down. First names are maybe a lot less scary when you're barely 18 and already halfway in love.

Summary
It can be hard to understand Hollander and Rozanov, especially when you know them as players first. But the deeper you go, the more the truth comes out - they're soulmates, destined to be together, always orbiting, always in love. Despite his persona, Shane gladly shows the world just how in love he is with Ilya. After all, Ilya deserves all of it and more. Walking Ilya like a dog? Summary
One seemingly insignificant moment changes everything, and Ilya applies for a Green Card in the shadow of the 2014 Olympics. It starts a domino effect that culminates in one night, in Shane Hollander's cottage. A plan is made, but it's so different than what could've been. No Ottawa.
Then, the Metros show their true (very homophobic) face, and Shane quickly realises he needs a new team, not just for their plan, but for himself too.
Thankfully, there is a team that's not only looking for fresh blood, but has a very accepting Captain. Not to mention extremely hot (and Russian) too.
