Steve nods with another smile that falls as soon as she walks away to prepare for takeoff. His thoughts wander back to the reason he’s on a flight to LA today.

Or: Steve flies to LA to talk to Eddie and tell him he loves him, but something happens that could threaten more than just his mission to get his man back. It's a good thing he has a guardian angel with him on that plane.

Summary
“Nice costume.” Eddie “The Freak” Munson is grinning in front of him, hair sweaty and a leather jacket tied around his waist.
Steve’s pissed. He can feel his face turn red with anger, that Eddie seems to be having a better summer than Steve himself. Steve, who isn’t a twenty year old high-schooler.
“Oh, yeah. You like it?” Steve looks down at himself, plucks at the ugly blue shorts and brushes away an invisible crumb on his equally ugly-equally blue shirt. “It’s actually a uniform, though. Scoops own-brand uniform. So…”
Or, Eddie invites Steve over to his trailer on a random Thursday night. It was an offer innocent enough, but Steve and Eddie have never had a civil conversation in the past ten years that they’ve known each other. What makes tonight so special?

Then the doorbell rang.
The doorbell rang and in walked Steve ‘the hair’ Harrington. But what had Eddie fussing over him like a mother hen was the fact Steve was beat to hell. Eddie’s heart almost thumped its way through his chest. This man was going to be the death of him.
