Gabe knew he never should have majored in Literature.
He knew he never should have gone to grad school.And he definitely knew better than to study at the Tower Coffee Shop.

“But seriously,” Agent Romanoff says, sliding into business mode as easily as she switches from Ukrainian to English, “before Stevie here works himself into a coronary: we noticed that one of your usual teammates has been absent this week.”
Andy’s almost ashamed to admit it takes him a full six seconds to process that 1) the Avengers know the shop’s work schedule, and 2) he’s not actually surprised by that fact. “Uh, yeah. Finals ended at NYU last Tuesday, so Gabe’s home for the week...”
He trails off and all four baristas watch in bewilderment because the Avengers are already halfway to the exit before Andy has even finished his sentence.
Gabe the Barista goes missing. The team (over)reacts, as they're wont to do. Steve takes a field trip to commit some civil disobedience because #steve. Tony Stark has a heart (but don't tell anyone). Natasha is a rabble rouser. Sam is the best wingman. And Bucky doesn't get paid enough for this shit.
