Summary:
When Obi-Wan dies by Anakin's hand, he expects that to be the end.
It is not.
When he opens his eyes again, all of thirteen but with forty extra years of experience, not even the dust, dread, and death on Melidaan can stand in his way. Summary
It's March of 1954; Steve Rogers has been back in the past, and married to Peggy Carter, for the last four years. It's a life, and a fairly simple one at that, but it's not all it's cracked up to be. Turns out, nostalgia isn't the best reason to make a life decision, especially one regarding what era to live in and how to live.
It's been four years, and Steve misses Bucky, like a limb, but it's a decision he's made and no matter what he might want, he can't go back on it now. Besides, there's not enough Pym Particles to change it now anyway. And he can't leave Peggy behind again, can he?
And then one day a sudden electrical storm changes everything, and a man he never thought he would see again, is waiting in his home when Steve comes home from work.
Bucky's here for a visit - only two weeks before he needs to return to his own time. But with Bucky right in front of him again, Steve's suddenly lost; he's trapped between a rock and a hard place; he made Peggy a promise, but he also loves Bucky with all his heart. Does Steve still have a chance with the actual love of his life, or has he destroyed any chance of that life when he left for a misguided attempt at a life with Peggy?

“Bucky?” Steve calls softly, and Bucky halts, going preternaturally still.
Steve finds himself thrown back to that day on the bridge, staring at the assailant who’d worn his best friend’s face, a flame of hope fluttering in his chest.
It’s with similar feeling that he watches Bucky slowly raise his eyes to meet Steve’s, and a similar agony pierces through him as Bucky stares at Steve with the same blank eyes of the Soldier.
“Steve,” Bucky says, after a too-long pause, brow ever-so-slightly furrowed.
His gaze goes to Sam as if he’s seeking reassurance. As if he needs confirmation that what he’s seeing is real. Only after Sam has offered a subtle nod does he look back at Steve, face pale as milk, and very empty.
“How— Why are you… here?”

He doesn’t even complain after the fucking wall hadn’t been padded properly (Chris’d been furious and had stepped out for minute, snapped open a can of Coke and let it fizz in his mouth instead of the words he’d wanted to say – things like come here, Seb and who the fuck let this happen and we’re taking the rest of the day off and I’m feeding this gorgeous sub juice in bed).
