Only when he closed the door behind him the four figures he hadn't even noticed were in the room stopped doing whatever they were doing and looked at him, surprise and confusion taking over their faces as they realized who had just come in.
Hayden Pike was standing there. Next to him, sitting on a chair, was a very pregnant woman whom Ilya assumed was his wife. In another chair also sat an asian, elegant looking woman that Ilya recognised as Shane’s mother, and next to her was standing a middle aged white man that had to be Shane’s father.

Shane never talked about Lily. He flat out refused to acknowledge that she even existed most of the time. But after Shane gets laid out on the ice during a home game, the high strength painkillers loosen his tongue and the truth, whether Hayden wants to hear it or not, begins to spill out…
“You haven't done anything with another man, have you?” Hayden asked carefully.
“Of course. A man, always a man… only a man.” Shane rolled his eyes as though it was the most obvious thing that Hayden should have known all along.
But Hayden didn't know! He had never known whom or what Shane liked. Weren't we just talking about Rose Landry?

It takes Luca a moment to understand just what the hell Ilya's talking about, before he moans, low in his throat, humiliation sweeping across his body. It's not that he thought he had been actually subtle, but he hadn't expected this, of all places, to be where they confronted him. Not with Ilya's hand worming its way into Shane's pants, the soft blue of his briefs a flash color amongst the pale glow of his skin and the dark drape of his clothes.

Except Shane accidentally, drunkenly, outs himself to the Montreal Metros at the end of the season. Who are not as okay with it as Shane would have hoped.
