"Eds?" He questioned, innocently.
"You can't just tell someone you've been in love with them since you were fucking eight years old, and-" Eddie continued, ranging closer (Richie could see that he was pointing a finger at him), "-and fucking run away."
"Seven," Richie instinctively corrected, and Eddie stopped on his path, he could see his fuzzy features change (into what? He had no fucking clue), "-we met when I was seven."
He could see his mouth shift, he couldn't really identify what, before he spoke, "You didn't fucking love me as soon as you met me, jackass-"
"Ya ever heard of love at first sight, Eds?" Richie cracked back, but it was too genuine to be funny.

“You can ask him out first,” Stan interrupted, pointing out, “-and then he can ask you out. Simple.”

“I get it, Eddie,” Mike followed, maybe trying to break up fucking… Stan, “-he's been flirting with you for so long, you just want to see him execute on it.”
“Yes, yeah,” Eddie sighed, running a hand through his hair, “-it's kinda fucked up if I have to finally do it.”
“Well,” Bev pursed her lips (cherry red, it was kinda her signature thing) like she was thinking, “-why don't you just kick it up a notch?”

It only takes three rings for Richie to pick up the phone. This is pretty standard for Richie. He’d told Eddie once that the first time his phone rings, he usually has to find it somewhere in the room. The second time it rings is when Richie sees the Caller ID, and if he picks up on the third ring, that means Richie likes whoever is at the other end. He’d found that infuriating when Richie first told him, and vividly remembers how he’d bitched about missing important opportunities if he was answering phone calls based on his mood. Right now, however, knowing that Richie is answering the phone because he wants to talk to Eddie brings nothing but total relief.

Ronan’s sleepiness was disappearing fast, blue eyes sharpening into shards of ice as they took him in. Adam was acutely aware of the blood in his hair, the hunch to his shoulders that he couldn’t straighten out and still be able to breathe properly, the bruises on his arm hidden under one measly layer of thin cotton blend, the blank fear no doubt on his face.
He expected Ronan to say something. To yell, maybe. About the blood and the bruises and the fear, or about Adam breaking into Monmouth, or a million other things because Ronan liked yelling and was never short on excuses for it. But he didn’t. He just stood there, ramrod straight in his bedroom doorway, so tense that Adam could see the clench of his stomach muscles.
Adam swallowed. “I was just gonna borrow y’all’s shower before second. If you don’t mind.”
