The Upside Down is sealed for good. Vecna is dead...but as far as everyone knows, so is Eddie Munson. And because of that, Steve Harrington's life is falling apart. But when Dustin discovers an up and coming metal band from Chicago, the voice on the cassette is too eerily familiar for him not to suspect that, maybe, his friend is alive after all.

What starts with some innocent flirting leads Steve down a path of letting his defenses down, realizing he likes boys, letting someone else take care of him for a change, learning a metric fuck-ton about metal music against his will, hooking up with Eddie Munson, and becoming the boyfriend of a rock star (but not necessarily in that order).The weirdo ends up with the jock.

Summary
His parents had told him they had given him too many good things in life, spent their money – their valuable time, just to have their only son end up working at a video store.
So, he's told it's time to make his own way in the world, if he's not going to follow theirs. He didn't realise where he had been driving when he finally pulled up to the small cabin in the forest.
