Natasha does not scowl at him, does not show him her strength. She stands, pretty and proper as she is appraised, observed, heavy eyes pressing over her body. She is a doll because that is what they want from her.

Remus Lupin isn’t the type to drive under the influence. Yet here he was — in the dead of night, during a storm, on a dark country road — standing over the body of a boy he’s just hit with his truck.When the boy wakes with no memory of who he is, Remus offers to take him in until he recovers.
But something isn’t adding up. And Remus can’t shake the feeling that the boy’s past is far darker, and closer, than he’s currently letting on.

Sirius has been living with the Potters for three months now.
His brother has been here longer—has seen first hand how the Potters truly are. His brother has seen them, heard them, and slowly has become part of their family.
Sirius, on the other hand, hasn’t. He didn’t. He isn’t going to be a part of their family—he never was planning on it. He’s fine being on his own—happy, even. He is so happy. Totally, happy. Nothing could ever change that.
