As the cold autumn breezes stroke the peaceful town Nash-Lake, a loving couple of upstanding senior citizens bids their time.
Lorenzo attends to his work at the butcher shop, making a conscious effort to put up a good impression to please his wife. Rachel hosts a tea party at her house, attempting to instigate a bit of amusement in such a dull period.But underneath the smiles, the Watermans feel their restraint slip between their fingers as the day of their yearly game is barely within grasp and the desire to indulge themselves grows stronger.

Such lovely characterization of such very, very, very bad people. I love how perfectly their exterior “coldness” comes out given how unconventional they are with expressing love. They are two halves of one evil, they know it, and never forget. Animals pacing inside a cage, people in that they know the cage isn’t even locked. Such perfection! Such characterization! To drag out the Watermans for one normal day and still keep them the Watermans.

It was ridiculous. He was being ridiculous. He was no longer a weepy child, he shouldn’t be hounding and begging for his big sister’s attention like he did when she had her own life to live.
“Is something wrong?” Forger asked and Yuri hated that his concern seemed genuine. Stupid perfect Loidy. “Maybe it’s something I can help with?”
He scowled. “Unless you can magically turn into my sister and sit with me through my heat then I wouldn’t count on it.”
An unforeseen heat takes Yuri to the Forger's in search of his sister except the only one around is perfect Loidy himself.
