Summary
Bright Moon was a small tourist town. The kind of place people visited, not the kind of place they stayed in. So for someone like Adora, looking to take a little time to grow up and prepare herself for the next step in her life, spending a year here made sense.
It was just supposed to be a stop in the road to bigger and better things. But the people were so nice and Adora had never really had a lot of friends growing up.
Then there was Catra. The kind of person that could throw a wrench into even the most well thought out plan.

After Adora deserted her, Catra can't sleep in the Fright Zone the same way anymore. She finds the only way she can ease her mind is to sleep in Adora's old bed. That is, until she gets an unexpected visitor.
(( I noticed that all the PWP written about catradora is "Catra sneaks into brightmoon at night to bang" which made me wonder...what would it be like the other way around??? Very angst heavy, and more like a Catra character study, since she is so complex and interesting to write.))

Catra’s been better.
Catra used to hope that when she saw Adora again, she’d be someone Adora could be proud of. Student Body President, Valedictorian with a scholarship to a good college. She’d have her life together, and maybe they could have a chance at something.
She almost was all of those things, actually.
Adora isn’t going to want her, not after the way Catra’s life has fallen apart in the last year. It’s not like Adora ever would have, but it’s a guarantee, a given since she’s already ruined her life and allowed herself to be ruined many times over. She’s waiting for the day her friends realize that too.
She doesn’t know if that all changes when a chance encounter reunites them at a party, but as they become close again after they reconnect, Catra fears that she’ll bring Adora down with her.

But, something had to give and Adora found herself waning further and further. Those dreaded feelings snuck up behind her and made her dynamic with Catra all the more... volatile. With her friends encouraging her, Adora now had the support she needed, all she had to do was quit on her own merits.
