    “They said I lied,” Hongjoong said, remembering the looks on the guards faces, the way one of them had punched him in the gut and threatened to make him regret lying.
    “Did you?” omega asked. There was no curiosity in the voice, like he was asking the question just to entertain Hongjoong or be polite, not because he actually cared for the answer.
    He grinned. “Well, yeah. Had I told them that I’m a pirate and I actually had robbed the facility moments ago, I’d be heading straight to the gallows.” Getting hanged really wasn’t in his plans that day. “Are you going to tell me what landed you here?”
    “They say,” the voice replied, mimicking his tone, “I stabbed someone.”
    “Did you?”
    “If I did,” the omega said, “he was a nasty alpha and deserved it.”

They were third years, and Kacchan was easily his best friend. He was also the love of his life. Every time Kacchan hit pre-heat, courting gifts would flood the dorms and Izuku would watch in terror as Kacchan inspected each one and then crumple in relief when he turned them down.

    He couldn't wait on the sidelines anymore and wonder if Kacchan would accept him. He had to try, or else he'd miss his chance and regret it for the rest of his life.
