The stories had reached even Gusu: Yunmeng’s Lotus Pier had been attacked, its defense breached, its buildings burned. They said the sect leader and his lady wife were both dead or in comas, lingering briefly before death; they said that the sect heir had disappeared with the sect’s treasures.
They said Wei Wuxian had tried to defend his home, and that they’d broken his leg for it.
