All Rudo knew at this moment was pain.
Horrific, horrific pain.
Pain so horrible it crept into his mind, stealing his thoughts. Pain so horrible he didn’t want to move. Pain so horrible it dulled the rage he knew only so well to a point where he could barely feel it, barely touch it, as his body was in pure survival mode.

Wild thought his adventures were over. Hint hint, thought. He thought that, because he didn’t clear out all the gloom in his arm before saving Hyrule, he would have a numbered amount of days left. He thought that Mineru’s parting gift of her Sage Stone was worthless. He thought that he was only going to be playing with the residue of Rauru’s power left over in his arm before he expired prematurely from gloom poisoning. He thought he was never going to see his brothers again. For most of that, he was wrong. Apparently, it was comical to Hylia to send him back on the adventure he had been on with his brothers, but with only 30 days left to complete it before his body gave out.
OR:
Wild only has thirty days left alive because Rauru’s arm only kept him alive to save Zelda, and to keep cool new powers. Also, he’s the Sage of Sprit now because why not.

Then the top of Rudo’s fishing pole pulled sharply down.
Rudo immediately stood up out of the shade of Umbreaker. He jumped from foot to foot, hands hovering around the reel of the fishing pole. “What’s going on?!” Rudo exclaimed.
“Whoo hoo! Fish on!” Enjin laughed as he also jumped up from his chair.

Enjin was shoved out of the back of the truck, dropping with a hard thud and an oomph of pain onto his bruised, aching knees, sending a cloud of dust up on the road beneath him as shouts rang out at the end of the drive. He wasn’t too surprised at the distant uproar coming from the front steps of Cleaners HQ. He’d been missing three days, after all. Not that he’d expected anyone to really care, but…
Being dumped back at headquarters, battered and beat to shit, hands chained behind his back and blood all over his face, wasn’t exactly the ideal homecoming he’d first envisioned three days ago. But on the other hand, at least he was back.

Rudo never quite mastered a smile, no matter the amount of times Regto had tried to teach him. Even now, it comes out as a soft grimace– but it’s the closest thing to one Regto thinks he’ll ever see. “You– old man,” he huffed. Somehow, his eyes are the brightest they’ve ever been. “So… sentimental… for such– a shitty world, you’re really… something else…” the hand gripping Regto’s goes slack. For the first time since Regto’s taken him in more than a decade ago, there’s no tremors wracking charred, black skin, nor involuntary twitches and spasms.
He wondered if the pain had finally, fully, gone away.---
