Summary
Shane was fourteen the first time a number felt like safety.
The nutritionist worked out of an office in Kanata, framed certificates, a calm voice, laminated charts with columns. She explained it simply: fuel in, output required, timing of each. She said it was a starting point.
Shane took notes in the margins the way he took notes on everything—completely, past what was required. Yuna had found the nutritionist herself, sat beside him, and took notes too.
Like mother, like son.

Summary
Refusing to let Ilya ruin his career by signing with Ottawa, Shane chooses to really give their relationship a try and moves to Boston to live with Ilya and become a Raider. What follows is enough public scrutiny and backlash from his team that it has him questioning if he made the right decision. Until moments with Ilya and the Raiders show him exactly why he chose correctly.

Hayden’s eyes flickered to Shane as he sat on the bench, chewing on the edge of his mouth guard.
“Don’t fucking look at him,” Ilya insisted as he bent down for the faceoff.
“Excuse me?” Hayden mumbled, eyes darting back to him.
“You heard me,” he retorted, his tone clipped. “He’s not your teammate anymore; he’s mine. If you think Marlow is a problem to your game, wait until you see what I will do to your team if you hurt anyone on mine again.”
Hayden scoffed, dipping his head as he tried to focus on the game. Something about Ilya’s words still rang through his head though, sounding so definitive that he didn’t want to risk seeing what he was actually referring to when he said that.
The puck dropped again, and Ilya stole it before he could comprehend how quickly it happened.

I Am Not A Morning Person opened at 4:30 AM. Usually. Their menu was obscene and ever changing, and they offered shots of tequila in their coffee to anyone with an ID.
Hannibal fell in love with their grouchy baker anyway.

Summary
Kim Dokja grasps at his hands desperately. “Joonghyuk-ah. Was this not the world you wanted?”
“What?”
“Did I dream it wrong? Is that it? Is that why you’re so sad all the time? Do you—do you want me to dream it differently?”
/
(Post epilogue, Kim Dokja gets too caught up in his own head. He thinks that maybe, he should never have been here at all.)

Summary
The day of PittFest doesn't even crack the top five worst days of Jack's life. Until he walks out onto the roof and sees Robby's stethoscope hanging off the railing.
(Alternatively: Jack Abbot's horrible, no good, very bad day, Michael Robinavitch's worse day, and two old men doing literally anything except talking about their feelings.)
