When Shane wakes up, he’s laying on his back, Ilya on top of him.
It’s one of his favorite ways to fall asleep, with Ilya crushing him into the mattress, and it’s even better in the morning, when he knows before he even wakes up that Ilya is still in bed with him. Before he opens his eyes, he finds Ilya’s curls, buries his fingers in them.
The room is bathed in a golden glow, and Ilya’s awake, chin digging a little bit into Shane’s sternum, looking at him like he’s something holy.

He couldn’t stop himself. He turned to Ilya, throwing himself around his neck, tucking his face in Ilya’s chest.
Ilya’s heart broke, seeing him break down like this, “Oh, Shane. What’s wrong?” He said softly, holding him tightly and rubbing his hand on his back.
“Today was terrible. But it’s so stupid! It shouldn’t be this hard. And I can’t stop; the panic won’t stop. Just want it to stop.” Shane said pitifully, sobbing into Ilya’s t-shirt.
