“Kid!” Plagg flew in front of him, his green eyes wide with panic as he waved his arms frantically. “Deep breaths! C’mon you can do it.”
But, he couldn’t. He just couldn’t do it.
His lungs felt glued shut. He couldn’t get a single clean breath down his throat, just a sharp, agonizing tightness that made his head ache. The walls of the bathroom felt like they were closing in on him, until the room felt the size of a coffin.
His coffin.
A sharp and sudden pain went through his leg as he dug his nails into his knee in an attempt to ground himself.
Today was just too much. He thought he was getting better at this, at controlling himself.
But today was just too much.
He wanted his father—his dad and, and—
He wanted his mom.
