Summary
The time after the Eclipse Cannon was much more solemn for Sonic. A lot of moments he would become disassociated thinking about everything that had happened and grieving Shadow. While Shadow’s whereabouts were unknown, it was assumed the fall to Earth or the explosion had killed him. Sonic couldn't name the emotions, but he hated how short the time he had with the black and red hedgehog was. To keep his mind busy, Sonic helped his mom at work but that only brings up more memories.
When he tracks down signs of a red and black blur, he finds Shadow seemingly in pain. Sonic will do anything to save Shadow, even if it means risking his own life.OR: Kinda OOC Slowfic of Post-Sonic-Movie-3 Sonic mourning the assumed death of Shadow but finds Shadow in need of his help (or at least that's what he's telling himself). When Sonic gets injured Shadow is the only one who can save him. The two try to navigate their feelings while caught between Sonic's Wachowski/Green Hills home life, and Shadow finding purpose and his new chapter in life after everything. Sweet, shy, and angsty Sonadow content.

He should say no then, Kyouka was always looking out for his best interest. But then his gaze was pulled again to that book, and those drawings. His heart started to beat rapidly and a little flicker of want started to lick at the back of his throat. He’s never let himself want anything before. The consequences of ever letting that flicker turn into a flame chilled him to the bone. He stared at the book one more time, running the pad of his thumb over the remaining gold embossing of the name Chokodo Shujin.

He approached the couch and any better judgement he might have held before vanished, when he held Akutagawa's hand, dainty and slender, but still covered in scars and calouses. Definitely as human as any hand Atsushi had ever held.

Akutagawa just bitterly shook his head, eyes shifting away from Atsushi almost in disgust. And it surely had to be the same kind of disgust Atsushi felt in the bathroom looking at the tiger's paws.

He was sure Akutagawa was dead. So, needless to say, everything that went down at the airport was quite a shock to the poor boy. He didn’t even have time to process Akutagawa’s momentary stint in vampirism, because they were soon fighting against another powerful enemy, just the two of them, once again. It had now been a week since everything had finally ended, since the Decay of Angels was finally defeated, and Atsushi hadn’t seen or heard from Akutagawa once. That is, until Atsushi saw him casually walking down the street, as if nothing had happened. So, yeah. Atsushi was more than a little pissed off. He wasn’t entirely sure what he was mad about, specifically, but there was no mistaking the burning sensation he felt in his chest the moment he locked eyes with the man who had literally died for him.

Kunikida questioned, though by the way he jabbed his finger into Atsushi's chest and stared at him with unconvinced accusatory eyes it felt more like an interrogation than anything.
Atsushi mused about how Kunikida would have been good in a position within law enforcement. But was drawn out of that thought as Kunikida gave him another jab.“Oh um I”
Atsushi stammered taking a step back, placing up two placating hands up in the air like he was about to be arrested by the man.
Though everyone was a lot less aggressive about it they had all been thinking about it, Atsushi looked around the room looking for some kind of salvation from it all but none was to come.“Atsushi doesn't have a style — he’s something new. Exciting even.”

This couldn’t be just another story about a sleeping princess, this is more like a sleeping beauty’s worst nightmare. Cursed to sleep with the knowledge there’s no one in the world who’d love him enough to break this, Atsushi suffers in silence. Summary
Seriously, what was the point of this? Was Akutagawa just trying to make his life difficult on purpose? He wouldn't put it past the guy...maybe he was still mad at him. Not that Akutagawa wasn't already in a perpetual state of being mad at him. But Atsushi could still vividly remember the hateful glint that sparked in his eyes when his head had hit the back of the wall.
Atsushi had hurt him then, hadn't he? He hadn't meant to. All he knew back then was that he was being attacked, and when he saw an opening, he took it.
✩The Armed Detective Agency finds themselves on a cruise. They think they're here on a mission, but Atsushi knows the truth. This is all actually an elaborate scheme to get the stressed detectives to go on vacation. A scheme that becomes much more difficult when the Port Mafia is discovered to also be on board.
Meanwhile, Akutagawa is ordered by Dazai to investigate a series of mysteries while keeping his own presence on the ship a secret. Things go wrong however when a) his illness starts affecting him more than normal and b) The stupid fucking weretiger spots him.
In the cabin above them, Dazai and Chuuya share a room. They are not happy about it.

The basement is dark, deliberately so, like the shadows were designed to procure fear. It looks to have been built with confinement in mind. No windows. No cracks of daylight. Just cold concrete walls pressing inward making me panic. A single door sits across from me, reinforced with thick steel bars slick with oil and age.
My breath stutters as I notice the embedded in the floor, metal grates darkened with old stains. My mind fills with the possibilities I don’t want to acknowledge.

Or, Atsushi is kidnapped just a day after work, convinced the Agency—and Akutagawa—will find him before anything goes wrong. But he doesn’t know the kidnapper has already slipped an ability user into his place, someone who can mimic his appearance perfectly. As the captor grows more sadistic and violent the deception tightens around everyone who cares for him. One question becomes horrifyingly clear: will the ADA realize the truth before it’s too late—or is Atsushi already lost?
