Immediately, the two of them both froze up completely. Atsushi wanted to curl up in a hole and die after something as mortifying as that. Akutagawa hadn't even done anything aside from bite him, he wasn't sure why the noise slipped out but it had. And there was no changing it.

Atsushi was someone who didn't know how to control himself and someone who's been controlled his entire life. Once given that control, he was dangerous. Dangerous for himself.
He was nothing but a ticking time bomb, waiting, aching to explode. And as time ticked on, as it moved, Atsushi became nothing short of an overachiever, to a suicidal level. He'd throw himself off a building to save someone, he'd take a bullet for a witness and he had endangered himself so many times and broke under the pressure of his cases and missions to the point of no return.
Frequent near death experiences, broken bones, mauled flesh, it all made Dazai annoyed and almost worried.
So, knowing that the control was the issue, he decided he'd take the strings tied loosely around the tiger's limbs and become a puppeteer once again, only this time for the better.
Dominant and submissive therapy. It was something he never would've thought of in the past but something that Atsushi needed.
He needed to let go. Let go of himself and have someone to catch him amidst his fall.

That might have been a mercy, honestly, if a beast's appetite was his sin. Instead, Akutagawa Ryuunosuke, the bane of his existence, seems intent to be his sickness and sin. Intent to split open all of the depravity Atsushi so desperately wants to bury inside himself.
