Paul was uptown, probably looking for some rich bitch from an old New York family to soften the blow of his wife throwing a drink in his face and asking for a divorce. John wished him good luck in finding his second wife and prayed that Paul would leave him alone. The old times were over; the old gang had split up. They were all adults now. There was no going back to what they’d once had.
AU: After two years, Paul’s marriage ends and he moves to New York City in 1971. John doesn’t take it well.

Stede has finally hit his breaking point, and he's trying to take back control of his own life. He's going to start by taking on the challenge of hiking The Revenge Way, despite being a complete novice.
Ed is struggling with a creative block before a huge exhibition of his artwork. He needs to get out of the torture box that is his studio, and despite not really being a 'nature' guy, he's hoping a long hike through it might help to inspire him. It's the off season, which almost guarantees a peaceful, meditative experience where he has the whole trail to himself.

Edward Teach, also known as the notorious hacker Blackbeard, has settled down to teach at a local university in an attempt to switch up the monotony of his life. Instead, he finds himself just as bored until he comes across an insane Professor that apparently invites men in full leather fetish gear to his office and discusses the price of bulk lube with his TA. He's fucking fascinated and, for the first time in a long time, excited about every new day to see what the maniac will do next.

Ed ran his fingers over the rich brown leather of the journal’s cover and took a centering breath. This, Ed had every intention of giving the reverence it deserved. This, Ed had every intention of savoring, committing to memory the things where Stede’s handwriting got a little bit shaky so he could gently ask about them later.
He adjusted the lantern to angle toward the pages before settling back against their hoard of pillows and cracked open the book for the first time. Ed smiled as Stede’s elegant calligraphy greeted him, the title words written in decorative, looping letters, and settled in for a very different story time than the crew was enjoying on deck.
