Verity's smile widens, his tone laced with sarcasm and doubt.Mob gulps down the unease that bubbled in his chest. His mind spiraled back to Twixxel's disappearance.
In front of him lay the entity that took his best friend's life, maybe chewed and digested, or swallowed whole if Verity had an ounce of mercy.
The thought of how Twixxel was killed still makes him gag.But instead of getting angry, lashing out at Verity, or crying his heart out, Mob knew better.
Deep down, he knew that he'd be next if he didn't play his cards right. So instead of letting emotion take over, Mob takes a moment to breathe, remembering how Verity's dotted eyes focused on him. And with a forced smile, he says,
"Couldn't do it without you."
The yellow entity's smile falters for a moment before widening much more than before.
