At the annual reunion on Dr Mensah's farm for the original survey team members of PresAux, Gurathin gets himself into a bit of trouble and is forced to ask Murderbot for help. Note this is definitively TV-verse, though set sometime after the show, so spoilers for that. Unrelated to my previous fics.
Prompt: "Perhaps an injured Gurathin avoiding MedSystem and Murderbot bringing a first aid kit to him instead? Or, if that doesn’t strike your fancy, Gurathin saying something “rude” (i.e. direct) that’s helpful for murderbot to know and it realizing it likes his directness." So I went with your first option, but I have to tell you I did in fact do the opposite and involve a MedSys and not a first aid kit, but hopefully it remains in the spirit of the prompt.

There are a lot of traditions relating to this time of year (I write, on the 21st December), when the nights are at their longest. These are to be found both across the timespan of human existence and all around the world. There’s the Winter Solstice (obviously) but also Brumalia, Saturnalia (17th-24th December), Yalda Night, Yule and the Dongzhi Festival, to name a small selection. I assume Preservation culture would have similar traditions.
I reckon that at least somewhere in The Murderbot Universe (probably the CR) there is the HallmarkSeasonalMovie™

It had only gotten worse when the school year started. Max was pulling away, Lucas wanted to be popular for some reason, and only Dustin acted with any semblance of normality. Mike hadn’t known what to do with himself.
He hadn’t known himself. He’d pictured his mom with the wine glass. His father asleep in his La-Z-Boy. He saw himself in the basement, rotting away while Will and El were probably living it up in sunny California, and he ached.
He’d only made it through because of Hellfire. Because of Eddie’s bright maniacism and Dustin’s splashy laugh and Lucas’s steadying smile around him at the table while they rolled dice and were able to forget that the world contained evil they could not defeat.
But he’d been lost. He’d been so stuck and only barely staying afloat; his face dipping into the water, slipping down only to push himself off the bottom over and over and over and he was exhausted of it all.
OR, post S4, Mike has a think one night and realizes a few things.

It’s fine, except for the fact that it’s not fine at all, except for the fact that it’s so not fine that Will’s life is in imminent danger due to how fucked up he is over it.
But boys don’t cry, according to The Cure, so Will won’t either. He’s trying to take it to heart.
