In no universe should he have to witness Mydei’s hand linger on Phainon’s shoulder for a moment longer than what two friends consider proper, and then watch as Mydei flexes his hand right afterwards, clearly so affected by it. Like something straight out of March’s romance novels.
Seriously, Phainon’s eyes had softened when he looked at Mydei. Multiple times. In public! And here Caelus thought eyes could only soften in Jing Yuan fanfiction.

“Do you ever feel like you’re falling behind?” Kaveh asked as he pulled his knees up to his chest.
Alhaitham tilted his head in confusion, “What do you mean?”
“When it comes to relationships and stuff.”
“Not really.”
“Well, I do,” Kaveh confessed. “Sometimes I feel like I’m running on a track and no matter how fast I run, everyone else is passing by me while I just keep falling behind…I mean, everyone else I’m friends with has gone on a date before and I have yet to even hold hands with someone romantically.”
Kaveh is a romantic who wants all of his "firsts" to be with someone special, but can never seem to find that person. Even though he knows that Kaveh will never see him as a romantic option, Alhaitham offers to be that special person every chance he gets.
