Nezuko was the adorable little sister of Tomioka Giyuu, the only living family left for the blue-eyed black-haired man.
Ever since their older sister, Tsutako, sacrificed herself to protect them both from a demon attack when they were children, Giyuu had taken on the responsibility of taking care of Nezuko with all his heart. He would be the strong and loving older brother that Nezuko needed.
Not long after the tragedy that struck the Tomioka household, a man named Urokodaki Sakonji —an alpha of average height wearing a red tengu mask and a blue cloud-patterned jinbei — took both cubs under his wing and cared for them as his own. He taught Giyuu full concentration breathing and the ten forms of Water Breathing. The elder brother was determined to become a strong demon slayer in order to protect his younger sister.

She could feel the weight of the stares and whispers of the other Hashira on her. They were judging her. Expressing their annoyance through insults that were attached to her name. But Touko didn't give a shit about whatever they had to say. All she could think about was where Nezuko's box was.
Shinazugawa had also disappeared an hour ago. An unpleasant and familiar feeling began to settle in her stomach, warning her that something bad was about to happen.

Summary
Touko has always been clear that her duty as the eldest daughter was to love, provide for and protect her family. When she fails in the latter she can't help but feel miserable and blame herself for what happened. But she tries to remedy it by being there for Tanjirou and Nezuko. The two of them were the most precious thing she had.
As long as she lives, no one will harm her siblings.

Summary
Nezuko was the third daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Tomioka.
And also their last cub.
Being the youngest, she was logically the spoiled of the house. Filled with love for her parents and her two older siblings, Tsutako and Giyuu, even before she was born. However, that love and happiness was abruptly snatched away when a demon invaded her home in the dead of night. Taking with it the lives of her parents and older sister when Nezuko was two years old.
Now it's just her and Giyuu against the world.
