Adrian had been conflicted about the leaky space blob his mate had brought back from his mission to the stars.
On one claw it helped his mate to save the stars.
On the other claw, it was mostly comatose since the two saviors of the universe had come back. It didn’t seem to be useful at all.
On the other other claw, if what his mate said was true (and his mate would never lie to Adrian), it was the only reason why his mate was even with him right now.
On the other other other claw, with its health being as bad as it was, Adrian almost never saw his mate nowadays.

‘ “Well, someone’s excited,” Grace greets back. His eyes wander to the larger Eridian standing just behind his friend. Adrian. He smiles and waves at his friend’s mate, who imitates the gesture back.
”Yes yes, very excited,” Rocky says. He’s even speaking faster than typical. ”Rocky and Adrian have big big big news. Wanted to let Grace know right away.”
“Alrighty, bud,” Grace chuckles from his friend’s bobbing. Even Adrian lets out a few deep trills of laughter. However, he can tell that the other is also excited about whatever news the couple has come to share, given Adrian’s similar posture. He opens the door all the way and stands to the side. “C’mon in.” ‘
Or: With 40 Eridani A at full luminosity and Grace long since recovered, Rocky and Adrian revisit old plans to start a family.

"did you change my name in the software?" Grace asked.
Rocky fidgeted, moving from side to side a bit, claws wiggling.
"Yes. changed name. week ago."
"oh...ummm...okay... w-what did you change it to?"
Rocky sang the new Harmony of Grace's name, "♫⋆｡♪ ᝰ₊˚♬ﾟᯓ.‧."
"Grace." the robo voice supplied.
"Well, yeah, but, what's it mean?"
"it is meaning of your name. gift sent from above, a kindness."
that made Grace pause. "oh. well, then what was it before?"
Rocky seemed embarrassed now, carapace tilted down, claws fidgeting. He stayed quiet for longer this time, unwilling to answer.
Grace has a sneaking suspicion.
"Just tell me, pal." Grace said irritably.
"Rocky call Grace Blob before."
what.
"what."
