Summary
For as long as he can remember, Zuko knew he would have no say in who he would marry. Anyone familiar with basic royal customs would realize it as well. Marriage wasn’t a luxury or some grand display of love; marriage was for convenience and a power move if done correctly. It meant nothing to Zuko. He was raised with the knowledge that he would one day be sent off to live with a stranger for the sake of his nation, and it didn’t matter if he ended up happy or not. His happiness didn't matter.
All this to say, when his father tells him that he is to marry a stranger from the Southern Water Tribe and use their marriage as an opportunity to spy on the enemy, Zuko knows he has no choice. It's just...he didn't expect this stranger to be so kind to him.

Summary
The fire nation is in desperate need of materials and healing supplies, but the only way to obtain these are from their rivaling nation of the water tribe. After everything they’ve done the water tribe is untrusting of the fire nation - naturally - but fire lord Ozai has a master plan he cannot imagine failing. The one thing that most cannot deny is a desirable omega, and although not desirable to him, he finds his omega son to be very useful.
Or
Zuko is forced into an arranged marriage that doesn’t turn out nearly as bad as he thought it would.

Zuko had the scrawny prison guard over and on his back in an instant. His fist curled above his head, igniting itself in flames as he landed on top of him, lips pulled back in a scowl. "Not this time, you piece of shit."
"Wait! wait wait wait! Stop! It's me!" The guard heaved. Dark tan hands peeled off the helmet. Beneath it was an impossible face; one he remembered had clasped his hands ten months ago. Zuko's breath sucked in, fast and dry.
"Yeah," Sokka huffed, a soft smile slowly curling onto his lips. "You're okay now. It's just me."

Where Zuko is banished without Iroh or the task of searching for the Avatar for his honor, gets himself a bounty on his head, and has to be saved from Boiling Rock Prison by an annoying Southern Water Tribe warrior that makes him feel really weird.
