Considering Jahoda has been fired and unfired from her elusive, high-paying job at the Curatorium of Secrets in the span of 12 hours, not once, but twice, she would like to say that she is either a fabulous employee, absolutely dogshit at her job, both, or, at the very least, qualified to take a crash course on it.
The first time this happened, Lauma was in the room. The second time this happened, well, what do you know? Lauma was in the fucking room again. She swears it's got something to do with the Moonchanter, and definitely nothing to do with herself.
Especially seeing that the second time she got fired and unfired in 12 hours was because of Little Miss Moonchanter and her complicated relationship-like thing with her boss.
Or, the story of Jahoda's unintentional certification in employee not-etiquette, featuring two divorced wives.

The truth is that Nefer once thought blindness was a complete darkness, though she now knows that it varies. She had opened her eyes once — perhaps directly to spite Lauma’s mandates — and saw only flickers of light, concentrated where Lauma stood. And this split her chest with a horrible ache; the absence of what they once had, and the absence of moon’s beauty shining back at her.

“Change can be difficult,” Nefer offers simply, but not dismissively.
Lauma huffs, smiling in a way that doesn’t quite reach her eyes. “I honestly find it more complicated than difficult.”
She doesn’t regret it, of course. The Frostmoon Scions deserved to know the truth, and she can see that, despite the challenges, her people have proven themselves resilient, and malleable. Adaptable. Many have left, but many others have stayed too, and they’re building something new and something better now because of that difficult truth. She wouldn’t change anything, if she were given the chance to do things over.
But it’s—complicated. More so, lately.
