Summary
Frank is a broke print shop employee in a failing post-punk band. He feels guilty over his internet scams — are they really scams, though? He started with creepy older guys, but it got very tiring. The older women, on the other hand, are sweet to him. They pamper him, dote on him, and willingly give him money just for talking to them. Being a beautiful, kind younger man who listens, treats them like a person and is their friend, a boy they can spoil, while they’re lonely in their real lives. That’s not a scam, that’s practically a service, right?
Then, he meets a stunning woman on a forum who quickly turns out to be unlike any other.

the last customer had just left, the elderly woman with the yappy pomeranian in her purse, and gerard was already reaching for the key to the front doors when the world shattered.
the glass doors burst open with a violent chime.
“everybody on the fucking floor! this is a robbery! hands where we can see them!”
the leader barked orders, but one of them, the smallest, wiry, moving with coiled energy, vaulted the counter in one fluid motion. boots hit the tile inches from gerard’s station.
time stuttered.
gerard looked up, and for a split second, everything narrowed to the masked man looming over him. the ski mask hid most of his face, but those eyes, fuck, those eyes- locked onto gerard’s with an intensity that punched straight through the panic.

Gerard sighed again and smiled, allowing his eyes to close as he drifted forward to press his forehead against Franks. “Just me and you?”
“Always.”
Frank had made the promise a long time ago that whatever was going on between them was never to be spoken about to their mutual friends. And he'd kept his word; to the outside world they appeared as nothing more than friends, while behind closed doors they kissed and complimented each other fiercely. Gerard sometimes saw the way Frank would gaze at him when nobody else was looking and it would take all of the strength he could muster to not react, to not feel everything simmering beneath the surface.
Gerard couldn't deny how much more heightened his senses were now that he was fully sober; everything felt different, better. Frank's skin felt warmer and the way Gerard's cock was painfully swollen was spreading heat through him in gentle pulses, no doubt turning his cheeks rosy red. Gerard kept his eyes closed as he moved closer, he didn't need to look to be able to find Frank's lips; he was sure he could find them in every universe.

The thing is, it’s not like Gerard doesn’t know. All the guys know — they kind of had to be brought in on it after the attack, both for safety and legal reasons. They were his friends, sure, but in the early days, Frank didn’t want anyone to know. But the lawyers had all said that it was important, that if he wanted to keep his dream, keep the band, and more importantly, make sure that they wanted to keep him, that they would have to be the first he told, right after his mom and dad.
And while it’s not exactly public, their fans aren’t stupid. They’re devious little crafty fucks with no idea of personal space half the time and even though they've never been overt about it, Frank’s seen the message boards over the years. Has seen his own name pop up in fucking lycanthropy advice forums, all careful to stick to claims of speculation and suspected contagion.
But Gerard knows.
Which is why the first time that his hand curls into Frank’s hair on stage, Frank jolts and fucks up the chord he’s playing, a squeal of twangy feedback that makes him flinch almost as much as the touch itself.
