Summary
Infamous outlaw Merman Technoblade knows how to interact with humans, avoid them by all costs or sink them, but when a ship trespasses onto his territory he can't help but be curious. His day is then made dramatically worse when one of said humans falls into the water, only he doesn't look like a warrior or any kind of threat.. Convinced the fragile human won't survive on his own he takes pity on him, he just didn't expect to enjoy the company.

His face, back lit as it was, looked perfect; sharp features, cat-like tilted eyes, a light, playful, perfect smile painted over his face. Everything about him looked lithe, from the way his legs pressed daintily under him or his torso bent and twisted over with a playful tilt. Dark curls bounced just above his eyes, framing their shocking gold perfectly.
“I don’t think we’ve met. Can I have your name?” he asked, folding one hand out from behind his back and extending it towards Techno.
“I’m afraid I don’t usually give it out to strangers.”

The Herald’s voice remained even. “Collateral.”
Kaeya flinched.
“Your city will fall eventually. With or without you.”

Or, perhaps it would have, if “freedom” didn't mean helping Tsukasa shatter countless statues. Perhaps it would have, if survival in the stone world wasn’t all masks and mind games. Perhaps it would have, if Hyoga weren't so determined to put him back in a cage.
Funny thing about cages: if you cover them in blankets, you can almost forget about the bars. Offer a piece of cheese, and the rat will trap itself inside.
