"Please, Maddie, dont let Evan know any of this. Not about the money, not about me. I won't let him know he was created to save me, he's more than that! He's my baby brother, our baby brother," Daniel insisted, Maddie hugging him close.
"I wont let him know. He'll know hes loved by at least us, I swear," she whispered and Daniel leaned over shakily, kissing the small red mark on Evan's forehead.
"I'll always protect you, Eve. I promise," Daniel whispered, Maddie dropping her head down.

When Daniel died, their grandmother's inheritance went to the next eligible male in the family, which was a cousin. But when Buck finds out about Daniel when he's 28, he's also contacted by his grandmother to let him know that cousin passed before he turned 30 so Buck is next in line to inherit.
